 Position Overview

This position will provide support to production and manufacturing engineering in the form of work instructions and cross functional discussions. The Configurable Electrical Manufacturing Engineering Technician is a key member of the Phoenix Operations Engineering team that will be responsible for the research, development and delivery of Work instructions necessary to manufacture Phoenix’s fleet of advanced, all-electric transit buses and associated charging equipment. This person will be responsible for Work instruction creation and work instruction maintenance. This position will be based in Greenville, SC and report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Greenville, SC. This position will collaborate with other Manufacturing Engineering team members located at our other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA

About the Role – You Will:

  • Read and analyze wire harness schematics to accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Requires focused attention to details of high complexity products while establishing and/or optimizing the manufacturing assembly process through the writing of associated work instructions.
  • Responsible for providing a standardized approach for implementing various instructions/photos to aid in assembly processes while achieving the highest quality and efficiency
  • Develops and ensures manufacturing processes are clear, robust, error proofed, and repeatable.
  • Interfaces with the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Review new releases and engineering charges and attend design reviews to provide configurable electrical manufacturing engineering support.
  • Take photographs, manipulate CAD models, sketches, diagrams, and/or charts to illustrate work instructions.
  • Maintains excellent communication with production associates and manufacturing engineering team
  • Supports existing manufacturing activities to improve quality, cost, and delivery when updating work instructions
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Your Experience Includes

  • 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or Associates Degree or higher applicable technical field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with electrical harnessing and wire schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau.
  • Experience developing step-by-step procedural documentation
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Experience organizing complex work assignments and operating independently within procedural guidelines and management directives.
  • Report writing and system configuration management expertise.
