Make the Green Choice

The most obvious advantage of EV’s is that they do not produce the pollution associated with conventional internal combustion engines that run on fuels such as gasoline, propane and diesel. However, there are many other beneficial factors to consider. Here are just a few:

Energy Efficient

Electric vehicles convert about 60% of energy to power at the wheel whereas conventional gasoline powered vehicles only convert about 20% of the gasoline’s energy to power at the wheel.

Lower Cost

Electric vehicles cost significantly less in total to own, operate and maintain than combustion-powered vehicles, even though the initial purchase price is somewhat higher.

Greater Reliability

Because electric motors have few moving parts and do not need fluids to run such as oil, anti-freeze or transmission fluid, they generally require relatively little maintenance and are less likely to leak. Requiring far less maintenance also means less down time.

Quieter

Electric vehicles run much quieter than combustion-powered vehicles which enhances worker health and comfort – a clever move as there seems to be no end to rising medical costs.

Performance Benefits

Electric powered motors run smoother, and stronger with less acceleration required. They also require less maintenance than internal combustion engines.

Convenience

Electric vehicles eliminate the need to fill up at the gas station and instead can conveniently be charged on site and overnight.

Environmentally Friendly

Electric vehicles do not emit tailpipe pollution and while the electric power plants that produce the energy may emit them, electricity generated from hydro, solar, wind, or nuclear power plants do not pollute the air.

Lower Overall Emissions

The overall emissions from electric vehicles are much less than those of their combustion-powered counterparts.
